What You Learn

LAMDA Examinations

Articulate is a registered training and examination centre for LAMDA examinations. We operate online across the whole of the UK. Our results are outstanding with over 95% of our students obtaining Distinctions over the last ten years. Our classes are fun, exciting and challenging – they’re designed to engage and motivate students whilst teaching valuable skills for life. The higher grades of LAMDA offer UCAS points for students wishing to attend university. They are accepted by all universities including Oxford and Cambridge.

At Articulate, we like to think we offer you the best of both worlds, alongside screen acting, your child can learn the art of LAMDA acting – These lessons are not only fun, but educational too, those of our students who rise up through the grades are able to use their accreditation towards applications for Universities, this really sets their application apart from others.  With no age restrictions, we welcome children of all ages to work through Grades 1 to 8 taking performance examinations within each module.

Delivered via Zoom by our specialist LAMDA tutors, in convenient, weekly, 15-minute sessions, our lessons allow your child to learn and develop their skills from the comfort and relaxation of their own home. We believe this allows your child to really thrive and get the most out of their learning experience. Homework is often set, so although 15 minutes of intense work seems a short amount of time, in reality, students will be working on skills throughout the week in their own time.

LAMDA drama training enhances your child’s ability to explore texts, understand characterisation, explore physicality, appreciate different contexts, and develop an understanding of a playwright’s style.

Not only is LAMDA a great method of acting, but it’s also a fantastic skill to help build self-confidence within your child and allow them to express themselves in a way that is not possible in the normal day to day life. The confidence and belief instilled within your child will last a lifetime.

Learn how to control your nerves and deliver incredible public speaking skills. This class teaches the art of commanding and engaging an audience when public speaking via techniques such as vocal projection, expression, pace, clarity, emphasis, pause, reflection, modulation, pronunciation and posture. Public Speaking is beneficial in almost all sectors and our students have gone on to be doctors, lawyers, teachers and advocates for charities. The classes work towards gaining the prestigious LAMDA Public Speaking qualifications and students are encouraged to perform for audiences and in Public Speaking competitions.

Could your child be the next Carrie Hope Fletcher, or can they belt out “Defying Gravity” like Cynthia Erivo? Perhaps they’d love to learn the skills required to achieve this? If so, LAMDA singing lessons might be the perfect fit! Our 30-minute weekly Zoom classes are taught one-on-one and allow your child to take centre stage concentrating on exactly what they would like to focus on – our tutors are equipped to cover characterisation, vocal registers, pitch, breathing techniques, acting through song, diction, audition techniques, musical interpretation, facial expression and body language in order to develop your child’s skills turning them into a passionate, expressive performer. Our goal is to provide a supportive and inspiring environment where your child can explore their potential and achieve their musical goals.

In these online zoom classes, our younger students explore different writers and poets, developing a love of the spoken word. Through performance, your child will use their newly developed talent to bring words to life and engage audiences. Through imagination and creativity your child will develop skills such as diction, clarity, projection expression, memory, and even more importantly, their confidence! At Articulate, we love to nurture our young students and these really are skills that can be used in all walks of life. Students often move from Verse & prose to the LAMDA Acting or Public Speaking qualifications to further enhance their skills.

When Are Our Classes?
