What We Teach

Our classes teach children and teenagers the skills they need to thrive in life. The drama classes are designed to equip your child with confidence, the ability to stand up and speak in front of an audience, to put forward their points clearly and intelligently, to comprehensive screen acting skills, covering everything from the basics to advanced techniques.

Juniors and Inters

Our classes for those in Reception to Year 5 focus on learning valuable core life skills including having confidence and self belief, the ability to speak in front of others and raise points clearly and articulately, to use their imaginations and creativity, to work with others and form friendships, to celebrate the success’ of one another and to learn empathy and emotional intelligence through thoughts, feelings, poems, scripts and stories. We do all of this in a fun, exciting way and our children leave our classes filled with self-belief with huge smiles on their faces.

Seniors and Advanced

Our classes for those students in year 6 and above, is where we get a little more serious while still focusing on our core values taught in the younger classes. You can expect to be working with scripts from television and film covering serious emotional scenes as well as adventure, action and comedy. Our tutors use audition scripts from shows like Waterloo Road, Adolescence and major movies. The Articulate teachers work with students on acting style and delivery of lines, use of pause, reaction, creating light and shade in the performance, making the performance varied and interesting, naturalism, use of accents and nuanced delivery. How to create and film a perfect self-tape audition is covered regularly, as well as improvisation. The classes are described as having a real ‘buzz’ in them- where everyone is welcomed, accepted and everyone is there for the same reasons. Students leave the class with a real excitement and passion and friendships are often continued outside of the classes.

The joy of our Performing Arts classes is that we cover a little bit of everything – dance, drama and singing! A fun, physical, class set to music from your favourite musicals. In this class, your child will spend their time improving their flexibility, technique, improvisation, audition technique, core strength, and coordination. Group singing and harmonies will also be on the agenda, this is where teamwork in this class really comes into play.Your child will build friendships and grow in confidence all within one class!

Articulate is AMAZING! 3 of my children go and all absolutely love it. They are in 3 different age groups which are adapted to support their age levels and abilities. Safe and supportive environment and a fantastic way for children to build in self confidence and be themselves.

My daughter is in year 2 at school and has been attending since she started school. I must say it’s a club she has consistently enjoyed, we started with just one class a week but now she’s doing two back to back. We also take part in the summer school which she thoroughly enjoys. There’s the odd chance to attend an ope class and see what they’ve been learning and from time to time the teacher offers calls to parents to discuss their development. If classes have ever been cancelled because of snow, they’ve offered really interactive zoom classes instead. There’s some nice additional things to participate in like performing at local events. She has made so many friends at her articulate classes. We are so pleased we chose articulate.

Articulate Drama School has been amazing for my son R’Mari, he has built so much confidence and passion for acting. He has enjoyed having the experience to be a supporting artist for a television programme (Emmerdale). The team at Articulate are welcoming and encourage R’Mari in his lessons to continue to strive. I would recommend Articulate as the drama school to have your child/children to attend if you are wanting build their confidence or if they have a passion for acting or performing.

My daughter absolutely loves going to Articulate and her confidence has come on so much, she’s had some great opportunities for TV work too. The drama school is so well managed, the varied themed classes during the year, the fact there’s always a teacher available if the regular one is ill, the varied workshops, especially the recent K Pop demon hunters workshop was just amazing, thank you so much for listening to our feedback and putting an additional class on so my older demon hunter lover could take part! I particularly love the addition of the newsletter as it can be so difficult keeping up with emails but a physical newsletter is great and my daughter loves doing the little word search etc on it. My daughter always leaves with a smile from the great teaching and friendly environment in her classes.

I’ve left a review before, but a year on I just wanted to say how much my daughter Mia is still loving Articulate. She takes on-screen classes, LAMDA classes, and has taken part in so many different workshops this past year. We absolutely love Articulate, the staff are all amazing and 2026 is going to be another amazing year for my daughter.
