Articulate Talent Star in BBC’S Riot Women

We’re thrilled to share that Ledi Losada and Brodie Nkome can be seen in Riot Women, a British drama series by multi-BAFTA award-winning writer Sally Wainwright.

Wainwright’s previous BBC dramas include Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax, Gentleman Jack, and Renegade Nell.

The six-part series follows five menopausal women who come together to create a makeshift punk-rock band to enter a local talent contest and find they have more to sing about than they imagined.

Ledi takes on the role of Manuela, and Brodie takes on the role of Rocco, where they share the screen with stars including Rosalie Craig, Amelia Bullmore, Lorraine Ashbourne, Joanna Scanlan, Tamsin Greig, Anne Reid, and Sue Johnston.

Lesi said:

Filming Riot Women was so much fun. I learnt lots from the older actresses who were in my scenes, and they were all really kind to me. I also got to film with a lovely German Shepherd dog called Logan. He was nearly as big as me, but I wasn’t scared. I liked him. I did one scene in a ladybird costume and got to have my face painted with lots of sparkly glitter. It was so much fun.

Brodie added, “Being cast in Riot Women was a dream come true. After working so hard and after many auditions, I finally got the part. I couldn’t believe what was happening. Meeting and working with Sally Wainwright, Jess Taylor, Lorraine Ashbourne, Sue Johnson and the rest of the cast and crew was unbelievable and such a valuable experience for me. I have taken so much from my time at Riot Women, and it’s helped me develop my skills and knowledge. It’s made me a better actor. I made so many lifelong friends, and it’s led to me having so many great opportunities since.

You can watch the series now on BBC iPlayer!
