In 1978 the first season of All Creature Great and Small, an adaptation of a book by Alf Wight, aired on Channel 5, bringing a warm and gentle drama to our screens. Then, in 2020, the same show returned, and they’re now shooting series 2 with two Articulate trained kids among its cast.
Following the exploits and adventures of a Yorkshire veterinarian practice’s staff in the 30’s and 40’s, All Creatures has garnered much in the way of critical praise, winning the 1981 Peabody award and being nominated for three other major awards. It was also well received by audiences, with overwhelmingly positive reviews.
Articulate’s Hattie Edkins (14) will be taking the role of Hetty Rudd, while our younger client Aiden Cook (11) will be playing young Billy Dalby, a young farmer who is forced to take over the family farm after the death of his father.
Both children have plenty of experience in the profession, with Aiden having also filmed for Gentleman Jack and The Railway Children Return, as well as taking part in a commercial for Crosse and Blackwell, while Hattie has taken roles in Ackley Bridge, The Duke, The English Game and Last Tango In Halifax.
Filming for All Creatures Great and Small took place across the Yorkshire Dales over a period of five months. Starring Anna Madeley, Nicholas Ralph, Callum Wood, Samuel West and Rachel Shenton, it’s extremely popular and we’re very proud of these bookings!
