Articulate’s Freddy Smith (16), a young performer, along with three Articulate child actors, Bethany Stott (9), Bonnie Stott (5) and Myra Sofia Iftikhar (10), have all been cast in the latest and last series of critically acclaimed BBC drama Happy Valley.
Set in the hills and dales of Yorkshire and directed by Sally Wainwright, Happy Valley follows the trials and tribulations of Catherine Cawood, played by Sarah Lancashire, a police sergeant struggling against drug trafficking, murder, kidnapping and the sundry other crimes that plague her seemingly idyllic county while also dealing with a complicated personal life.
This is not the first time Articulate Children have filmed in a drama directed by Wainwright, we have also had the privilege of providing a number of our Children for work on productions like Last Tango in Halifax, Gentleman Jack and To walk invisible.
All four of our performers have been given amazing roles with sizeable scripts to learn and have been spending months filming across Calderdale, alongside such stars as Charlotte Murphy, Siobhan Finneran and Sarah Lancashire herself.
We are very proud of Articulate’s three children, Myra, 10, Bethany 9 and Bonnie, just 5, and of Freddy, 16, our Young Performer, and we wish them all the best in this exciting new project!
