Based on a true story, Mr Bates vs The Post Office is a four-part ITV series dramatising the infamous Post Office scandal.
Siblings Matilda (9) and Tom Firth (7) have roles as Millie-Jo and Cameron Castleton, the children of Lee Castleton (Will Mellor), one of the hundreds of sub postmasters wrongfully accused of fraud.
They help to create deep sympathy for Lee as we see him struggle to provide for his family and protect his children from the bullying at school as a result of the scandal.
Matilda and Tom went to London to film their scenes in the summer of 2023, and had great fun working together on set.
We are very proud that two of our children are part of such a poignant project. It has reignited outrage throughout the UK and kick-started further action to be taken against the Post Office to compensate the victims.
Matilda recently starred in BBC’s Time Series 2 as Nancy, daughter of Jodie Whittaker’s lead character, and is currently involved in a couple of exciting (but confidential) projects.
Mr Bates vs The Post Office is available on ITVX.
