Freddy Smith began his screen career in 2019 with a feature film debut as Cain in Suicide Kelly, produced by Idle Work Factory. In 2020, he joined the Articulate Agency. He appeared in Netflix’s period drama The English Game, directed by Birgitte Staermose.
The following year, he played Matt in the feature film Osama Bin Hiding (Make Films).
In 2022, Articulate Agency secured Freddy to take the recurring role of Kyle in The Dumping Ground, appearing in both Series 9 and Series 10 for CBBC.
His television success continued in 2023 with a role as Cesco in the third and final series of the BAFTA-winning BBC drama Happy Valley, directed by Sally Wainwright and starring Sarah Lancashire and James Norton.
Most recently, in 2025, Freddy has just finished filming for a major BBC series, which will be released in 2026.
