Rhys has been working in the Film and TV industry now for 10 years. His journey started in 2014 with a role in BAFTA-winning crime drama Happy Valley (BBC) as the supporting lead, Ryan Cawood. This is a role he reprised in 2016 and 2023, which consequently resulted in Rhys winning a BAFTA.
After the success of Happy Valley in 2014, the following year, he booked a role in a feature film called The Messenger (Gateway Films). The year after this, Rhys then moved over to television with roles in The Walk Invisible (BBC) and The White Princess (Company House) in 2016. In 2018, he booked a lead role in The Runaways, directed by Richard Heap.
In 2025, he appears in the BBC’s new series What It Feels Like For A Girl.
