15 year old Austin Haynes has a cast role in the latest film from George Clooney, The Boys in the Boat.
The film follows the true story of a young American rowing team as they compete in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, based on the book by Daniel James Brown. It premiered on Christmas Day in America, and on January 12th in the UK.
Austin plays the grandson of main character Joe Rantz, where his character opens and closes the film as he talks to his grandfather about rowing and his experiences on the team.
He demonstrates his brilliant American accent – one of the many in his toolkit. Austin has a great role in the upcoming feature film Jackdaw (Geordie accent) and he’s currently working on BBC’s The Responder (Scouse accent).
Recent roles also include playing Ryan Slater in BBC’s The Power of Parker, lead character Jud in Channel 4’s Youthless and guest lead Andrew Simmons in Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small. Austin is such a hard worker, and we can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store for him.
